understanding why your child is struggling at school
I remember the moment like it was yesterday.
It was 2am. My books were open, my mind was closed, and my heart was heavy. I was preparing for the exams — the final stretch of an exhausting academic journey. Everyone kept telling me, “Just push through,” but no one could tell me how.
How to deal with the fear.
How to focus when the pressure fogged up my brain.
How to stay motivated when the results didn’t reflect the effort.
How to study — really study — in a way that worked for me.
And so, out of desperation more than strategy, I began to design my own system.
I stopped trying to do what everyone else was doing — and started listening to what I needed.
That’s when everything changed.
from survival to structure
I broke my days into study blocks.
I gave myself permission to rest — to breathe.
I tracked my focus, not just my hours.
I started talking to myself the way I would to a student I cared about.
It wasn’t about being perfect. It was about progress.
That year, I didn’t just pass.
I walked away with something more valuable than a designation.
I walked away with a system that could be taught, shared, and scaled.
that system became empowermint
For 20 years, I’ve been tutoring students. Some brilliant, some struggling, most simply overwhelmed.
And over and over, I saw the same thing:
They weren’t being taught how to learn
So I turned my system into a book. Then into lectures.
And I called it empowermint — because learning should empower, not exhaust you.
Today, empowermint is more than just a book. It’s a movement. A mindset. A quiet revolution for students who feel like the system left them behind.
for the parent reading this
You want the best for your child.
You’ve paid for tutors, given them pep talks, tried reward charts. Still, the results don’t change.
It’s not your fault.
And it’s not your child’s fault either.
They don’t need more pressure. They need better tools.
They don’t need another app. They need a method that respects their humanity.
That’s what we’re building.
join the mission
