Dr. Z Dangor –
I read “mastering your studies, a guide on how to learn better” by Ebrahim Moolla on 2 legs of flights to Cape Town and back – it felt like Ebrahim was sitting next to me, articulating years of reflection and the experiences of how to get someone “there”.
“There” is really where you want to be and the author is providing guidance on how, particularly in this very challenging era of masterful distraction.
I am particularly drawn to the recap in green blocks and appreciate the introductory points that open each chapter.
To the young learner, I would encourage them to read Chapter 8 and 14 every term – these are good recap chapters.
Hamza – Matriculant –
This book is truly remarkable, particularly for high school students. As a matriculant, it has served as a source of inspiration and motivation throughout my trial and final examinations. The use of simple language and emojis enhances its accessibility and provides an enjoyable and enriching reading experience.
Muhammed Hassen –
The book is absolutely amazing! Individuals/students looking for those answers on how to do it,it’s all in there.
Loved the wonderful personal accomplishments and also the force of motivation and ways to get it done. 10/10 for me.
Highly recommended for school students and campus goers.
Can’t wait for the next one!
N Moola –
As human beings, we are creatures of instant gratification.
We’re always searching for the “easy way out” and the “cheat codes to life.” This, I believe is the take home lesson.
Having read the book, not only is it authentic, it’s relatable in a way that makes it easy to understand and implement almost instantaneously.
Whilst being centered around learning, I found within it life hacks which promote what most of us are in search of; a balanced, fulfilling and purposeful life.
It reminds us that learning isn’t simply parrot fashion, but absorbing and using whatever is learnt to achieve the greatness that lies within us.
“Two, there are who are never satisfied, the lover of the world, and the lover of knowledge. – Rumi”
Keith McLachlan –
I’ve finished your book. Well done! It reads well and it is a good collection of practical advice for students!
Mrs. J. Scott –
Your book resonated with me on such a deep level. As a mom to two teenage boys navigating the highs and lows of high school, I see first-hand the struggles and triumphs you so vividly explore. What struck me most was the practicality of your advice—simple, actionable steps that are so easily overlooked in the chaos of daily life.
I’ve started introducing your ideas into our family routines, not as grand gestures but as small, intentional changes (I introduced water as a start to their day). It’s already bringing a subtle shift in how my boys approach their challenges, and I can’t wait to see these seeds grow, not just in high school but as they journey into tertiary education and beyond.
What makes your book truly remarkable is how it doesn’t just stop at personal growth. It encourages paying it forward—teaching others, sharing value, and creating a ripple effect of insight and support. That perspective is powerful. This isn’t just a guide for success; it’s a blueprint for fostering community and greatness in others.
Thank you for sharing this gift. It’s more than a book; it’s a conversation starter, a motivator, and a reminder that the small things we do today can have an incredible impact tomorrow
Clare –

Mohamed Ismail –
The author did a great job in keeping this book:
1. Practical

3. Motivational
4. Informative
5. Skills orientated
6. Contextual
A book that I hope will benefit others who read it. Tips to help you get into the correct mindset and headspace.
Nobody is to be blamed except you, if you don’t make the best of every single opportunity you have been blessed to take part in.
Sit in front! Block out others (if it helps you) , Listen and take notes. Remain healthy by looking after your mind, body and soul.
Kerrigan van Zyl –
One of the best written books that I have read, especially for the young student
Serushka Atcha – COO –
The book was an easy quick read, all you need is 1hr, grab yourself a spot, put your head down and read.
As a parent I was pleased to see the guidance the author displayed, using examples of how to implement and using success stories that are close to home. Most “self help” books refer to wonder geniuses that are far out of reach from the average South African student, but this book makes everything real, referencing local students, professors, best in industry, etc.
Often teens will not take to heart what their parents say, but if it comes from someone else, that same message is often accepted, that is what I hope to get out for my kids, “Mr Moolla – an expert in his field has said this, you should try it and see the success for yourself”.
Enjoy the book, read a few pages a day to your pre-teens and set them up for success early on by establishing good habits.
Mohamed Cassimjee –
I’m very lazy when it comes to reading but when I picked up this book, I couldn’t put it down. I wish it was around when I was younger but nevertheless, the lessons and techniques will be instilled within me and valuable for my future growth. I spoke to my entire family to read it and explained the book to them and they seemed excited. I’m also one of those guys in 2010 who spent a substantial amount on tickets and wish I was wise enough to have invested in bitcoins. Your humility, humour and tone captivated me as well as your truthfulness, sincerity, caring and noble act of selflessness. It got me motivated to endure on a journey which I was skeptical about and holding back on, but now, I’m more than ever motivated to pursue and succeed.
Mrs. A Ameen –

The book is written in simple English, which encourages younger kids to read and understand. I like the fact that you recap from the previous chapters. This relates to the empowering factor. Encouraging people (students) to believe in themselves, which is a real motivation to keep on going and pursue their dreams
GG Alcock –
I enjoyed your book, I like your relaxed youthful style and I think it makes it more readable. The recap after each chapter is also great. And I like your personal example at the beginning and at the end.
G Gelink –
A really interesting and inspirational read. I enjoyed the relaxed, can-do style which should be a great inspiration to students of all disciplines.
Z Ally – lecturer –
As a lecturer, I highly recommend this book to high school students as well as to students in tertiary education. It is an easy read filled with great guidance, it doesn’t contain jargon where students would struggle to understand the message the author is trying to get across, and is therefore perfect for students.
